Go BYU!!!! oh wait.....

It's been a little while since I have posted so I will try to catch you up on a few things that have been going on the past few weeks. On Saturday Christian and I were invited by our friends KC and Camille to go to the Las Vegas Bowl to watch BYU play. Christian is a H-U-G-E BYU fan and to put it nicely...... well there is no nice way of saying, they sucked it up BIG TIME. Needless to say there may have been few choice words spoken that night. It would have been worth standing out in the cold if they would have won but that obviously didn't happen. My sister watched Kylee for us and that night she took her to a Christmas party where Santa showed up. Kylee was less than impressed as you can see by the pictures. To tell you the truth I'm really surprised she didn't scream. I would have thought she would have screamed her head off like every other kid. Then again.... Kylee is not like every other kid. Heck, she is 7 months old and still won't roll over. Maybe it was the setting. Who knows. Whatever it was the pictures turned out cute. Also, last week when it snowed I pulled the blinds up and Kylee sat in front of the window for a good hour or so. She was so fascinated with it and it was really cute to watch her get so excited about it. Next year it will be a lot more fun when she can actually go out and play in it. In a nutshell that has been our lives for the past couple of weeks. I hope everyone else has been a little more exciting than we have.

Also, I hope everyone has a good Christmas!!!!

Little miss attitude

A few weeks ago we got Kylee's 6 month pictures taken. Let me just say that she was the BIGGEST stinker. She would not smile no matter how stupid we were acting, how many faces we pulled, and how many songs we sang to her. We tried everything. As you can see by the pictures she was excited to be there. So excited that the photographer gave us half off the price because she wouldn't smile. But...... Thanks to Deb at Funny Face Photo for being patient with us and capturing Kylee at her finest. We managed to get a few smiles out of her. They all turned out really cute especially the ones of her pulling attitude. Funny to see her little personality come out everyday and scary that she takes after me. Eeek!!!!!

Who wouldn't laugh at this?

For one reason or another Christian and I can not get Kylee to laugh at us. The above video is Christian's attempt to get her to laugh. Keep in mind that the first time he did this she laughed her head off. We can do certain things one time but good luck getting her to laugh at the same thing twice. Guess she is just a one trick pony. Any pointers on how to get this stubborn little girl to laugh?

Take a Hike

A few weeks ago Christian and I went hiking up Snow Canyon on Johnson's Trail with our friends Dallas, Mindy and their little boy Kayden. It was beautiful weather and beautiful scenery. Anyone who hasn't hiked that should definitely do it. It only takes about 45 minutes total and is so worth it. Kayden and Kylee couldn't keep their hands off each other as you can see. What they don't know is that they already have an arranged marriage J/K. But it was fun to watch them interact and talk back and forth to each other. So thanks to Jeff and Sheri for letting us use their pack to haul Kylee around. We will return it one of these days :).

Oh and on a side note you still have a few more days to send me your email addresses before I go private.

Happy Halloween!!

For Kylee's first Halloween she was a pink leopard (is there such thing? There is now I guess). As you can see by the pictures she was so excited to be in her costume. I felt so bad for her because when I first put her in her costume it was still 80 degrees outside. That's way too hot to be in a flannel outfit if you ask me. She was roasting. By the time we got to my parents house she was pretty much done playing dress up. Christian also decided to dress up at the last minute. I was in the other room getting ready and he came running in with those tight short shorts and old school Provo running jersey. I about fell over backwards. Then he started stretching like he was getting ready for a race. I couldn't resist getting some snapshots of this and I was also not about to go out in public with him in those clothes even if it was Halloween. Isn't there a law against wearing something like that out in public or even in your own home? You could see every curve of his body in that thing. If there is one thing you will learn about Christian it's that he is not afraid to do or say ANYTHING. Love you Mason. Thanks for always making me laugh and cheering me up.

I hope everyone had a great Halloween!!!!

First time for everything

It's official.... Kylee has her first cold. We have all had a rough couple of nights of waking up every 2-3 hours (we are not used to that. She is an awesome sleeper). Her nose is so stuffy she can barely breathe and then she can't stop coughing. Her poor little eyes are so glazed over and it looks like she is crying all the time. All in all she has handled it like a champ. I think I have been the baby through this whole thing. It breaks my heart to see her so miserable and not being able to do anything about it. Welcome to motherhood right?Doesn't she look so sad in this picture?

Another fun night out!

We had another fun night out tonight. One of Christian's high school buddies and his family came into town for the weekend and we were able to go to dinner and ice cream with them. They had a little girl with some special needs and she could not stop hugging Kylee. While we were at dinner she had to sit right next to me so she could sit next to the baby. She couldn't talk very well so she would sit on her chair and pat her legs and that meant she wanted to hold Kylee. I think she did that about 20 times during dinner. After dinner we went to Artic Circle and I couldn't resist getting this picture of the girls man handling Kylee. We had so much fun. Thanks Ryan and Shantelle for coming to visit. It was a blast.

Which Twilight Character are you?

I'm a Esme! I found out through TwilightersAnonymous.com. Which Twilight Female Are You? Take the quiz and find out!
Take the Quiz and Share Your Results!

You are thoughtful and care very deeply for your family. A loving home is of great importance to you and you always try to make people feel welcome. Although you have a great capacity to love, you also have a great capacity to hurt, so at times you can be sensitive. You're firm when you need to be, but people trust your judgment and appreciate the kind way you always handle things.

A piece of Humble Pie

The past few days I have had a lot of time to reflect on my life. Where I have been, where I am now and where I am going. That's when I realized I need to eat a big piece of humble pie. I have been having a pity me party for the past week or so and have spent many hours crying and being a complete hag to my husband. On Saturday night that all came to an end when Christian opened up my eyes to how truly blessed I was. For the past few days all I could think about was how much weight I still need to lose or how ugly my hair looks and how I don't feel like I have any friends, blah blah blah, the list goes on and on. What I didn't realize is that I have all I could ever ask for right in front of my eyes. I have an AMAZING husband who would do ANYTHING for me, I have a beautiful little girl who makes me smile all day long, I have a roof over my head, food on the table, but most importantly I have the gospel. All those things that I have been worrying about for weeks will mean nothing in the life after. But what will matter is my family and the gospel. I just recently received a calling in the young women to serve as a personal progress assistant. To be completely honest I was NOT excited about it at all because 1. I hated young women's when I was of that age and 2. I loathed having to do personal progress. After much thought and prayer I realize this is probably a blessing in disguise. This is the perfect calling for me. I will have the opportunity to forget about myself and what I think my needs are and I will get to focus on helping other people gain a testimony and achieve something I didn't get to. In all reality this calling is probably more for my own sake than it is for the girls. I'm in a rut that I need to get out of and quick. So with that piece of humble pie in my mouth I gladly accept this calling and I am going to step up to the plate and do all that I need to for my calling and then I will also step up to the plate to be a better person at home. Christian and Kylee deserve the best and only the best. Life really isn't all that bad. Too bad it took a few weeks of crying and being a serious grouch to figure it out. Good thing the humble pie is available to anyone at anytime and any place if you are willing to accept it.

Saturday is a "Special" day

Does anyone else's husband like football/baseball or fantasy football/baseball as much as my husband does? Since the moment he got up the t.v. has been on and he flips from one game to another game and to another game to another game. If I start talking to him he has to push the pause button so he doesn't miss a thing. The best part about this whole thing is that if he is feeding Kylee while watching sports I'll look over and the nipple of the bottle is down on her neck instead of in her mouth. He also has been tormenting Kylee. It originally started out as him just casually playing with her. He was holding her on his lap and making the sound of a car shifting gears. (Is that even a sound?) and all of a sudden her bottom lip starts sticking out and she gives us that sad puppy dog look and she just starts crying. So then he tried it again and she did the same thing. So then he says I'm gonna go in the office and make that sound. Tell me if she gives you the face again. DUDE..... she is five months old and he laughs about making her cry. I have to admit it was a little funny but I also felt so bad for her. The sound really did scare her. I love my husband with all my heart but today GRRRRRR..... That pretty much sums up how I feel about Saturdays and football and my husband teasing my five month old.

Date night at Tuacahn

Wednesday night our good friends Jeff and Sheri invited us to go see Big River at Tuacahn. (Sorry Sheri, had to steal your picture since I forgot my camera). It just so happened that Wednesday night was date night so we got a cup of popcorn and two drinks and got to enjoy a really good show. SCORE!!! Thanks so much Sheri and Jeff for inviting us. I'm really sad you guys are moving. We will miss you tons!

I HATE SNAKES!!!!!!

A few minutes ago we went to take Kylee for her nightly walk and we got to the end of our walkway and turned the corner and I heard something crawling around in our bush. I crouched down to see what it was and lo and behold it was a SNAKE. Oh man, you should have heard me scream. I immediately starting shouting out orders to Christian to get that thing out of my yard. I was not about to have a snake living with us. He kept asking me how big it was and of course in my eyes it's the size of an anaconda but as soon as he saw how big it was he just laughed at me and wanted to keep walking. Oh no he di'ent....... I made him get that thing out of the bush and take it to the field next to our house. I swear this snake is bigger in real life or maybe I am just exaggerating things as usual. I don't care how little or big this snake is. I don't want it anywhere near me or my house.

Christian taunting me as usual. He kept trying to stick it in my face. Who does that?

Yankee Meadow

On Saturday Me, Christian, his friend Lance Hill and his son Roman took a fishing trip to Yankee Meadow up Parowan Canyon. We dropped Kylee off at my sisters and we headed up to catch our dinner for the night. It was FREEZING cold and the wind was blowing like crazy but we (actually Christian) still managed to catch 3 fish. Lance got away with 10. They were all decent size and good eating. Anyone looking for a good fishing spot should go check it out before it gets too cold. I also took a few shots of the trees that are starting to change colors. It was so pretty and I'm super excited for fall to get here. Thanks again Marcy for watching Kylee. Oh and no laughing at me in the pictures. Christian told me I looked like the uni-bomber but who cares, at least I was warm. ENJOY!

Yummy!!!

Kylee had her first taste of rice cereal last week. The first time I gave it to her she cried and cried and cried. The second time she actually ate it and these are the pictures from her second feeding. It drives me crazy that it is all over her mouth, nose, arms, legs, pretty much her whole body. It takes everything out of me not to wipe her face off after every bite. Guess this is a learning experience for both of us. Kylee has to learn to eat the stuff and I have to learn to not be such a freak when she gets a little food on her face.

WOW!!!!

The rules: No cleaning!!!!! That is it, I want to see how you really live! And you must tag 5 people back. Here we go! And please don't judge!

1. Closet

Christian is definitely a lot cleaner than myself. My closest is kind of a wierd shape so you can't really see all of it. I did the best I could.

2. SinkOur sink is usually pretty clean. As soon as we are done cooking I usually do the dishes. Our arangement is that Christian does the cooking (he is an AMAZING cook) and I do the dishes.

3. Toilet

Good thing I just cleaned this the other day and good thing you can't see all the dirt on my base boards. NASTY!!!!

4. Laundry Room Good thing you can't see the counter space on the other side of the door.

5. Kids/Pets I choose the kids! We have been through two Bull Dogs and I would choose kids any day.

6. Place you want to visit The Phillipines. Christian served his mission there and he keeps telling me how amazing it is there.
7. Your fridge/freezer
Ok so we have not been shopping in a really long time. Our fridge is bare! SCARY

8. Self Portrait I have been avoiding the camera ever since I had Kylee so this honestly is the only picture I could find of myself. UGH!!!!!

9. Favorite room
My Bedroom. I love love love to sleep!!! It's a good thing my baby is a good sleeper.
10. Favorite shoes

Any Flip Flops - all year round. I love St. George

I tag Ashlee, Brooke Jensen, Brooke B, Keish, and Marcy. If anyone else wants to, GO FOR IT!

BLING!! BLING!!

Kylee got her ears pierced this afternoon and she was an AMAZING sport. She only cried for a split second then she was right back to being as happy as could be. I think it hurt me more than it hurt her. Doesn't she look cute?

Where should I park this thing?

I couldn't resist posting about this so sorry Christian. I love you deeply!!!
Last night at about 3 a.m. Christian pops his head up and says where should I park this thing? Having just been woken up out of a deep sleep I was a little confused as to what was going on. Finally realizing that he was dreaming I decided to play along and answer his question to see how far I could get with him. So he asked again "Where should I park this thing?". I said huh? what thing? At that moment he realized he had been talking in his sleep and he said "Oh, I guess I'm not driving a mobile home". HA HA HA. I started laughing so loud. It really was one of the funniest things I have heard in a really long time. I mean lets be honest. Who dreams about driving around a mobile home? Oh my dear Christian. He keeps me laughing while he is awake and asleep. That's one of the reason I love him like crazy.

We have a Politician on our hands

Last night I was feeding Kylee while I was watching the Republican National Convention. When she was finished I set her up on my lap and she just started smiling and hooping and hollering at the TV. I looked up and it was showing John McCain and behind him was a bright blue background. Every so often the camera would scan the audience and Kylee would stop smiling and just sit really quiet. But the minute the camera would show John McCain in front of that big blue screen she would start grinning from ear to ear and hooping and hollering again. Of all people to grin at JOHN MCCAIN?????? Christian obviously hasn't given his spill about Obama to Kylee. I'm really hoping she was just enjoying the big blue screen behind the old man instead of the old man himself. Who knows?

Iron County Fair

On Monday we got to spend the day in Parowan for the Iron County Fair. The weather was perfect and it was so nice to get out of the house and spend time with the family. I haven't quite convinced Christian that the fair isn't just full of carnies and red necks and that it doesn't wreak of cabbage. Maybe one of these days he will see the light.

Kylee was being entertained by her cousin Tyler and I tried my best to capture her smile but the camera wouldn't cooperate. This is the best I could do.

McKinlee and Tavia

McCoy. He was just as excited as the rest of us to be hanging out in Parowan all day.

This is Kylee and and my brothers little boy McCoy. He is just one month older than Kylee. Don't they look like they are on a roller coaster of some sort?

My brother Steve and his boy Tyler.

My brother Tony sayin' what up to his home boys at the Iron County Fair.

Christian and my brother-in-law Russell. Don't they look thrilled to be here?

My sister-in-law Shirley and my niece Megan.

THE BUMBO

So this is one of the greatest inventions EVER. This little chair called the bumbo (or port-a-potty as Christian calls it) is one of the best things we ever spent money on. Here are a few pictures of her first time sitting in it. Anyone with kids that can't sit up yet should purchase one of these. They are great.

GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!!!!!
GIVE ME A BREAK MOM!

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

When Christian saw this picture he said all she needs now is the remote control. Doesn't she look so relaxed?
